Major Problem Part 6 by deaddays Major Problem Part 6 by deaddays
Waaahaha! I'm such a bitch!
BEHOLD! Dead Days "Major Problem" part 6!! And so continues my all-out assult on the medium we hold so dear! "Why?" you may ask? Hells bells, why not? Right?
I've finished writing the series and it turns out that it'll will be a whopping 12 parter!! Yes friends, the longest Dead Days series yet, beating out "The Art of Surfing" (9 parts) and The ever popular "Suzie Situation" (10 parts). Stay tuned for some more good stuff as the "Major Problem" series keeps on... truck-in'. (think Steven Wright on Reservoir Dogs).
-John
P.S. Come get a T-shirt why not? [link]

Hahaha! My art teacher would probably smack you over the head, but I love that. You ever heard of the Dadaist artists? They were insane. To them it was like : stick 100 people in a room and let them all hit different objects and *poof* - concert!!

Love this. :)

All right, here goes....
"Cotton Consumerism part 3"
"The Indiscriminate Stain"
"Unwashed Purgatory"
"Just a Damn Sock (Well Tread Misery of the Faceless Commodity)"
I don't know what's worse, that I could honestly see somebody doing that, or that I actually spent about ten minutes thinking up all those titles. Anyway, keep up the great work!

Wahaha! Man, if I could fave a comment I would! "Unwashed Purgatory" was bested only by "Well Tread Misery of the Faceless Commodity." Hi-larious! If ever I need an angsty title, I'm coming to you.

yep, the sad thing is that this is so true. Have you ever seen the front page of deviantart? A random picture of you kissing your boyfriend is not art. This deserves the front page of DA, so i'm gonna fav it, that and cuz its just like all your other comics, excellent....with great drawing skills.

Hahaha! This is SO true. I've said many times before that artists with talent won't make it in the art world because they just can't bring themselves to take an everyday object (in this case, a sock,) stick it on the wall and call it art. :D

This is really great. :+fav:

So fucking true, you know about the college where a girl hung herself in the centre of a campus and she rotted there for weeks before someone complained about the smell, all because some retard claimed it was his artwork.

Yay! Of course, we both know the sock wouldn't survive on deviantart. Here, art is respected if it contains no clothing and two "x" chromosomes. Heck, I don't really know about the art world OUTSIDE of deviantart, though.

trust me dude. a sock displayed as art would make it really well in today's "modern art" community. As John says, anything and everything can be art as long as some one believe it to be. It really takes no talent anymore unfortunately, just a good pitch and someone willing to buy. the uninal that was displayed as a piece of art in the lov is an excellent example. and truthfully, even in this wonderful community that is Deviantart, I could be a sock getting quite far depending on how it was displayed or described. It could easily be taken as a comedic piece and we all know how far those can get sometimes around here. And even here, pieces that aren't sex related get far, look and enayla's paintings or N05fartu's photo manipulations. But all in all I agree with you that DA seems to be a place where `true art' in its orginal and stunning form isn't as apprieciated as I wish it were.

That's right. I exaggerate a lot for no real reason. I know that some people really care about real art, but I'm always angered by people who take the easy road to popularity, weather by posting a few nekked snapshots, or just by cashing in on the latest popular art style. It makes me feel all unappriciated and stuff.

This comic is SO true. art has become diluted. Its like seeing a bunch of white lines painted on a white board at the Regina Art Gallery. I could start a big debate on this but it would take to long so Ill just say, excellent job so far
