Immigration Policy

Hey boys and girls! It's time for current events! YAY! (Don't worry, a new Dead Days is coming soon)
Alright, so the Collegian (the college newspaper I illustrate for) is back in full swing and this is the first piece of the new year.
Ya see, PRESIDENT BUSH (holds for applause... ha) wants to pass this new immigration policy in America that basically allows many illegal immigrants in the states to keep their jobs and not get deported back to Mex, thus allowing those workers to possibly apply for permanent residency and patching up relations with Mexico.
The Problem with that is that, the author of the piece wrote, is that it helps kill our economy! One of the reasons is because that something like $10 Billion is being sent OUT of the U.S. to the immigrants families back home each year! That's $10 Billion no longer in the U.S.
This was really a tough piece for me to do, because for years, my parents (and half my brothers and sisters) were illegal immigrants out of Mexico doing just that, and without that, my family wouldn't have eaten. So I sucked it up and stayed subjective without being cynical. I'm really happy with the piece. It's almost like a infographic! It's fun to do things with political cartoons other than one old guy in a suit talking to another old guy in a suit. Anyway, Thanks for reading!
