Well, if you don't know, Gay couples are FLOCKING to California (yes, the Schwarzenegger state) right now to tie the perverbial knot. Yep, it's a Gay Marriage free for all and Gay people couldn't be gayer... you know, the "happy" kinda gay. But as we speak, congress is trying (pretty well by the looks of it) to pass a law BANNING any future gay marriages. Will the constitution protect the gay rights like it should?
Probably not. It might be technically unconstitutional to ban it, something tells me the straight majority's gonna bend those rules. But who knows... anything could happen I suppose. Hell, I'd be happy to see it stay. Whatever floats your boat I say. I don't think people should be denied their basic human rights. Some people say that Marriage is a privelage, not a right. I say Bullflop to that. Aaanyway, here's a little politics for those who like that sorta stuff.
In other news, people are getting their Dead Days books and they seem pretty jazzed about it! And they should! They kick ass! Specially for 3 bucks. Anyway, there are still some availiable if you wanna place your order. For all of you who sent your overseas order by mail, dont' worry, I've taken that into account and you will DEFINATELY get your book. :) For those of you still looking to place your order and get a signed copy of my baby, go here and do what it says: [link]
Anyway, enjoy the politics, new Math Major Man coming soon! Thanks for reading all you! *sobs* I love you guys.
-John

Forget the never nots of the present critical thinking.

It's so true... you'd thinkt he constitution/umbrella would be able to hold up with the threat of gay-marriage-ban/anvil, but they just don't make umbrellas like they used to... *sighs* I'm pro-gay-marriage, because I know that, goddammit, people don't CHOOSE to be gay, (like who would choose to be discriminated against daily?) and so I think that they should be able to have the same legal rights as any one else. Right. Ok. Great cartoon :)

nice drawing

i just dont understand. when i heard i couldnt believe it. how can they try to do something so horrible. thats like banning inter-racial marriages. its just wrong.

Very brillaint execution... in accordance to present times. Which is really sad.

Yes, it's unfortunate that religion has to come into a subject that it realistically should stay out of, especially in the country with the right to free speech.

fuck the war on terror, go the war of opportunistic political weasels!

gay people have as much right to happiness as anyone but i think the problem is that with gay marriage rights they are trying to become part of something that was created without ever having gay people in mind.

it's like have a club that only admits girls because boys are icky and then a shemale shows up, what are you going to do with that.
something has to fundementally change in the nature of marriage to comfortably fit gay people into the package since it was originally designed for a hustband wife type of deal and i'm sure that if someone were to do that some people would whine that the value of their existing marriage would be lessened while gay people would nag that they don't want special treatment or a different kind of marriage from straight people.

if you ask me it would be easier to just create a seperate type of marriage to cater for gay people and their rights and needs.
i mean they allready have different types of normal marriages like the kind that prevents your partner from taking away your dog and savings when you divorce.
:iconencore:
oh come on. if they wanna do whatever they wanna do, then DO it, but why the fuck would they want to get married too?! does the fact that they CAN'T get married prevent them from getting laid or telling 'I love you' to each other or something? people really waste their breaths protesting against everything except what REALLY matters.
:iconin-apt:
I already had this discussion with many people.
The idea and socio-political concept of marriage is one to create the possibilities for families to generate future labour (as crude as it may sound).

Gay couples are, by definition, 'steriles' when it comes to conception. They do not, therefore, have the right to use the same beneficts.

I believe the constitution defends the right for everyone to be free, not to be different and yet be as everyone else is.
Why do they strive for their right for difference, when in the end they want to be just like anyone else?
